How often should you really get a haircut?
The four-week rule, why most desi men wait too long, and what 'too long' actually costs the shape of your cut.
The honest answer depends on the cut. A skin fade needs more upkeep than a longer scissor cut. Here is a simple guide based on the cuts we do most often at the shop.
Skin fades and tight tapers
Every two to three weeks. The contrast between skin and the start of the hair grows out fast, and once it softens past a certain point, the shape is gone.
Mid-length cuts with fade
Every four weeks. The top can hold its shape longer than the sides, so a quick fade tidy at week two and a full cut at week four works well.
Longer scissor cuts
Every six to eight weeks. Without clipper work on the sides, the cut grows in evenly and stays usable for longer.
Beard sculpts
Every three to four weeks, regardless of length. The neck line and cheek line are what define a beard, and they grow out fastest.
